Now is a great time to book a vacation in Mexico. Thanks to the incessant news media postings about the non-existent swine flu and the no-see-ums drug lords, the hotel occupancy rate is down by 82%. I have a friend who booked a room at the ultra expensive 4 Seasons in Punta di Mita, a luxurious vacation resort near Puerto Vallarta. The rooms normally cost hundreds of dollars per nite. He booked rooms for under $90 per night. The fact of the matter is that, aside from a few cases a few months ago in Mexico City, the swine flu is nowhere to be found, and none of us here, knows anyone who knows anyone who has had this darn flu. Same for the "drug lords". Granted there are some somewhere in Mexico City, just as there is Mafia in New York - but 99.9% of the people here have no dealings with drugs, just as most people don't in the U.S. or anywhere else in the world.
So, what does this all mean to you? It means that you can get a really cheap vacation here in Mexico! We all have recession prices. Check out my photo workshop/tours at www.mexploration.net. These are basically tours with photo advice thrown in (as much or as little as you want). I have weeklong packages or can do, 1, 2,or 3 days. Heck, in this economy, I can do whatever you want!
